The morning wasn't too cold when I went for a run, first time that I have been able to take my jacket off, still had running jumper and T shirt on, beany and mittens. Just lovely to run by the Murray and so peaceful.
Ater two games at Rich River we decided to drive the 70 kilometres and play at Cohuna....home of Stuart Appleby.
It was a nice easy drive and the course looked in good condition and flat, plus no-one out there, although it seemed like a comp started a little while after we tee'd off.
We both enjoyed the course, kangaroos, birdlife, but not so much the trees we hit.
Chris had 1 par and 4 bogeys, and I had 4 bogeys, no pars for me.
Scores for today were:
Chris front 9 = 50, and for the back 9 a 59 for a total of 109, less his 33 handicap = 76, with 33 stableford points.
For me front 9 = 55, back 9 = 56 for a total of 111 less my 36 handicap = 75, with 32 stableford points.
I've made an adjustment to the handicap calculation, I was taking the lat 8 scores, however it should the best 8 scores in the last 20 rounds, this has made both our handicaps comes down.
My handicap has is now 31, Chris is on 31 too.
On the way out from the course we saw something really funny.... 2 calves (probably yearlings) were near a barb wire fence and sudenly one of them attempted to jump over well he would have except his backlegs were left behind, he kicked and kicked and finally got himself over and knocked off a fence railing the process, then the 2nd one did the same. By this time we had driven past & there was a car coming the other way, this guy stopped and stopped and got out and shoo'ed the calves off the road.
We stopped in Gunbower on the way home and sat in the park and had some hot chips and potato cakes. Took a detour for a scenic drive and ended up going backwards on ourselves, got back to the main road (Murray Valley Highway), thn took a turn to the Torrumbarry Weir thinking that we could go a backway to our "home".
We were quite amazed with the Weir, the new weir was a hugh project which was opened by John Howard in 1997, if interested see link below:
