OUR TRIP TO TASSIE 2013 Ulverstone

Thursday 29th March, Happy birthday Dad, thinking of you so much.
We are enjoying our accomodation, the train seems to go pass twice a day and the last one is about 10:30 at night so doesn't really disturb us and there are no other traffic noise. Although the noise from the sea is very loud at the moment - we have the lounge door open but once shut it is fine. It really has only been our cottage in Port Huon that was really noisy with the cars and trucks.

This morning we drove out to Seabrook (through Burnie) to play golf. .
I had a great front 9 going round in 43 strokes, but fell away a bit in the back with 55, happy to be under 100 though. Chris had 108 all up but really wasn't feeling well most of the day. He didn't sleep well the night before, said he was cold all night which is unusual for him to be cold and not me. It rained on and off for most of the day and sometimes the sun was out, the sky blue and then a big black cloud would come over and the rain would fall for about 5 or ten minutes then sunshine again.

I really miss the swimming and we both are missing the gym and looking forward to getting back there. I think we will be very pleased to get home, we have had a great time, seen and done a lot but probably worn ourselves out a bit without too many rest days.
We wanted to play at Ulverstone Golf Course as I have read that it is a really nice championship course, however in our golf book it says there is a tournament on there over Easter. On the way home yesterday we tried to get to the Ulverstone Golf course but just couldn't seem to find it even with a GPS. We were both a bit tired and sore so came home instead. This morning I had another look at the ipad maps and worked out how to get there, so after our shopping we drove out there, just difficult to get to because of the freeway cutting some road access. It was a lovely spot, by a river and nice farmland. The carpark was full - about 60 cars (so not a lot based on Sydney golf courses). We wandered around, went in the club house and I saw a notice about the tournament being on today, tomorrow and Monday so we thought we would have to give it a miss at that course. Anyway someone came up and asked if we wanted any help and I said we wanted to play tomorrow and he said it was fine that they didn't have many entries in for Sunday or Monday. Actually today they had the Mens, Ladies, Juniors and Veterans playing so not surprising that they weren't backing up for another day. So looks like we will be out there tomorrow - weather permitting of course.
