We had an easy morning and drove out to the course about 11am. Lots of cars, people and golf buggies around. The weather was good, warm, no wind - all good for golf.

Chris and I started on the 10th following a group of 4, with a group of 4 behind us. We had not trouble keeping up with the group in front and usually had to wait for them to finish on the green.

Chris decided that his driver was not going so well so used his 5 iron off the tee, this resulted in a better score for him and should improve his confidence then he can go back to the driver.

For the comp we had to use our official handicap, 24 for Chris and 27 for me.

It was a stroke round so our scores for golflink were:

Chris: 108 strokes less handicap for a total of 84

Lynne: 103 strokes less handicap for a total of 76

I came 4th in the ladies competition!

For our own scoring method:

Chris front 9 = 54, back 9 = 54 for a total of 108, less his 31 handicap = 82, with 28 stableford points.

For me front 9 = 50, back 9 = 53 for a total of 103 less my 30 handicap = 73, with 34 stableford points.

My handicap has stayed at 30 and Chris has moved up to 32.

We put the clubs in the car and went to the club for a drink with the other players, bought some tickets in the raffle and were pleased not to win as the prizes were a chicken and some bacon.

We packed up a bit when we got back to our cabin as we're leaving to go to Cowell in the morning.

Next: Drive to Cowell
