We had the quietess night's sleep for ages, just beautiful, even though it was very windy for most of the night. The sun was shining when we woke up and it wasn't quite so cold when I went for a 5km run. A very peaceful run too.
We had decided to ring the Longyard course in Tamworth as Gunnedah had a championship on and looking at the Tamworth Golf Club web site it seemed like they had comps all day.

Longyard said it was fine to hit off after 11am, so off we went. We got to Tamworth and the course ok and in good time but then it took about 20 minutes to find the entry, ended up having to ask a guy who was out the front of his home.

The course was very busy so we were trailing the men's comp all the way.

The Longyard Course was designed by Greg Norman and Bob Harrison and is very challenging. The greens are very fast and undulating, it was very disheartening to pitch onto the green and then watch the ball roll backwards sometimes 3-4 metres to finally settle off the green.

We played some good holes and some bad ones, Chris had a par on one hole but says he needs to see Uncle Mike very soon as he seems to have lost touch with his swing.

I landed on the green on one par 3 with about a 2 metre putt only to watch the ball roll down off the green, same with my next putt until I finally got it in the hole for a 5

Scores for the 18:

Lynne - 1st 9 = 53, back 9 = 54, total = 107, less adjusted handicap of 26 for an 81.

Chris - 1st 9 = 57, back 9 = 64, total = 121, less adjusted handicap of 34 for an 87.
