Loxton is about 25 kms from our acccomodation at River Bush Cottages, a pleasant drive through grape and fruit growing areas.

Another beautiful day, cold to start off but then once the sun gets a bit higher in the sky just a lovely warm day.

There was a Men's competition in progress but we were told we could hit off as soon as the 1st was free. So we ended up playing between 2 groups of men but all moved along fine.

Chris was in good form and played his best golf on the front 9 with 48. I was not so good and lost 2 balls on the 2nd, a par 3. I ended not scoring on that hole so that really mucked my card up for the round.

When we finished the first 9 the group in front split up, 2 guys must have gone home and the 2 who remained asked us if we wanted to join them. They were really funny and good to play with. Phil was about 76 and worked in irrigation and Guy a bit younger than us and he was a fruit grower.

Chris lost a bit of his focus with having extra company and came in with 55 on the back which was still pretty good. I continued about the same and managed not to lose any more balls.

Scores for the 18:

Lynne - 1st 9 = NCR, back 9 = 56, total = NCR

Chris - 1st 9 = 48, back 9 = 55, total = 103 less Chris's adjusted handicap of 34 gives Chris a 69.

We had a late start to the morning so consequently we finished late so drove straight back to our cottage. We did turn into a National Trust area next to our cottages to see if there were any suitable running tracks for the morning. It looked promising.
