We drove around to the Mildura Golf Course yesterday to check out when we could get on. The Pro suggested we tee off before 9:30 this morning so that we would stay ahead of the comp field.

So we were there just before 9:30 on a cool but sunny morning. As we were getting our gear ready the guy parked next to us asked if he could join us (Bob) he was only playing 9 holes as his son was in the near by hospital and I assume he was going to see him. ( A very serious work accident). Then another guy on his own behind us joined our group (Michael). Both  were very nice and very social especially Bob who had worked as a teacher in Dandenong and is now helping disabled people in Dandenong.

I had a 47 on the front 9 and naturally I was pretty impressed (& surprised) with how I was playing. The back 9 was not quite so good, a 52 so ended up with 99 for the round. Not often that I get under 100.

Chris was not so good to start but improved as we went on and enjoyed the different company and the course.

Scores for the 18:
Lynne - 1st 9 = 47, 2nd 9 = 52, total = 99 less my adjusted handicap of 28 gives me 71.
Chris - 1st 9 = 58, 2nd 9 = 56, total = 114 less Chris's adjusted handcap of 34 gives Chris a 80.

Bob had told us that The House of Golf was close by and had a sale on, so after golf we headed out there and eventually came away with 2 new Ping clubs for me......my forthcoming birthday present. I had a practice with the clubs at the driving range behind the store before buying them and surprised myself and the shop owner with how far I hit the ball......I hope I can do it again!

After coming back to our cabin I went for a 5 km run, Chris went for a walk along the river. We headed out to find tomorrow's course......Riverside Golf Course. This proved to be a little bit difficult due to road closures but a least now we will know the way for tomorrow. The course looks really nice so hopefuly the weather will be fine.
