Another very cold morning with the forecast for a warm sunny day, so we decided to do the 75km drive west to play at Waikie, another course on the Murray River.

We were able to tee off the 10th as the comp was hitting off the 1st.

Waikerie is a beautiful course and so far the best of the 4 we have played in theis Riverland area. Fairways and greens in good condition, a few dog legs, some elevated greens and a couple of undulating fairways all made for some challenging golf.

I was reasonable happy with my drives and fairways woods but struggled with the short irons, then on the last hole I realised that Ihad been hitting from further out then I realised so should have been using an 8 iron whereas I had been using a 9.....learning all the time.

Chris seemed to find the trees on most of his drives and the wasted a few shots getting back on the fairway.

Scores for the 18:

Lynne - 1st 9 = 55, back 9 = 49, total = 105, less adjusted handicap of 27 for an 77.

Chris - 1st 9 = 61, back 9 = 52, total = 113 less Chris's adjusted handicap of 34 gives Chris a 79.

We finished a out 3 so headed into town to get some coffees and then down to the River area. There is a car ferry that takes cars the short distance across the river and then the road provides a short cut to Renmark sithout having to go through Kingston On Murray and Barmera. We followed a cliff walk track above the Murray, saw pelcians and eagles flying above us and just spectacular views of the river and cliffs.
